The Shanxiao (Chinese mountain-imp) refers to a crayfish-eating simian creature that lived in the western mountains. These impish hill spirits love to show off and be mischievous.

This mythological creature is a a nod to our simian cousins, the Snub-Nosed Monkey, and this particular monkey wears a demon disguise and an a cheeky smile.
